We’re thrilled to announce that, as of July 1st, the CoReCo project has officially kicked off under the support of the prestigious EIT RawMaterials programme!
♻️ What is CoReCo?
CoReCo stands for “Recycling of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) for New High-Frequency Transformer Magnetizable Concrete Core.”
This groundbreaking initiative focuses on uniting sustainable recycling with cutting-edge energy infrastructure – a perfect synergy of innovation and environmental responsibility.

🔬 What Are We Doing?
Through CoReCo, we:
- Recover critical raw materials like nickel and cobalt
- Repurpose nanocrystalline metallic waste
- Develop transformer cores optimized for high-frequency (10–100 kHz) operation in solid-state transformers (SSTs)
⚡ Why It Matters
✅ Next-Generation Transformers (MagPower™ by Magment)
High-frequency SSTs reduce energy losses, eliminate the need for water cooling, significantly reduce size and weight, and greatly improve Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) — especially important for data centers and dense urban power networks.
✅ Sustainable by Design
By using iron-cobalt-nickel nanocrystalline waste, recycled ferrites and concrete we are pioneering true circular economy practices in energy infrastructure.
✅ Lower CO₂ and Costs
This project directly contributes to reduced emissions, lower operational costs, and smarter power distribution for future cities.
🔋 Leading the Way in Green Power
At Magment, we believe in transforming industrial waste into high-impact energy solutions. The CoReCo project proves that recycling and advanced technology can power a cleaner, more resilient future.
👥 Project Consortium
The CoReCo consortium proudly brings together expertise from leading European institutions:
