Experts in Spain confirm Magment MC40 Magnetizable Concrete Performance in Wireless Power Transfer Application

The research study by C. Carretero, I. Lope and J. Acero, “Magnetizable Concrete Flux Concentrators for Wireless Inductive Power Transfer Applications,” in IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, doi: 10.1109/JESTPE.2019.2935226, shows Magment magnetizable concrete MC40 superior performance over ferrite in most important parameters, as shown in the performance matrix comparison (Table III):

Regarding the compatibility with the roadway, to construct a roadway fully incorporating ferrites could be unpractical and expensive whereas the magnetizable concrete naturally provide magnetic permeability to the full roadway”.

It is important to note, that this study was done using litz wire coils. MAGMENT coil technology takes advantage of half-embedding coils by a conventional precasting process yielding optimized magnetic as well as thermal and mechanical performance.
